Because the Habs did make history last night - the only 8th seed to defeat the President's Trophy winners and the defending Stanley Cup champs back to back - I have no problem with this one. Ditto that for Halak's 53 save game 6 performance in round 1 vs. Washington - it was historic and unlikely to be repeated.
As for the rest, Habs or not, I think they're unnecessary. They're not historic (Maxim Lapierre? great goal but WTF), and it comes across like the NHL whoring out what was a really nice touch - a tribute to the great hockey moments that no one forgets. Do they really think 20 years from now anyone's going to remember MAF's shutout in a series the Pens lost, or that the Habs put the boots to the Pens?

That being said, you're right in that some of them are weaker than others. THIS one with Gionta, I find hits that emotional nerve that the original ones with Gretzky, Roy, Yzerman et al. hit.
