Press Release - Montreal Canadiens Cut Five From Training Camp

Five players released from training camp

MONTREAL (September 20, 2010) – The Montreal Canadiens announced today that forwards Philippe Lefebvre (Montreal – QMJHL) and Brendan Gallagher (Vancouver – WHL), defensemen Morgan Ellis (Cape Breton – QMJHL) and Joe Stejskal (Dartmouth – ECAC), as well as goaltender Nicholas Champion (Lewiston – QMJHL) were released from training camp and returned to their respective team.

Fifty-three (53) players are still at training camp, including five (5) goaltenders, eighteen (18) defensemen and thirty (30) forwards. The list includes four injured players: Andrei Markov, Roman Hamrlik, Hunter Bishop and Dany Massé.

The Canadiens will play five preseason games in six nights, starting this Wednesday, September 22 against the Boston Bruins at the Bell Centre.
