The Montreal Canadiens have announced earlier today that they have called up forward Aaron Palushaj to replace injured forward Mike Cammalleri who suffered a deep laceration on his left leg when he was cut by the skate on teammate Yannick Weber during yesterday's 5-1 win against the Winnipeg Jets.
Assigned to the Bulldogs on October, the 22 year-old forward registered two helpers in Hamilton's 5-2 victory in their season opener against the Rochester Americans on October 8 in Hamilton.
Palushaj had a good training camp before his demotion, registering four points (1-3-4) in five preseason games with the Canadiens.
Palushaj's arrival gives the Habs eleven healthy forwards to work with if Yannick Weber is taking Jaroslav Spacek's spot on defense. Spacek left yesterday's contest with a ribs injury. We'll know more about the extent of his injury tomorrow.
Andrei Kostitsyn will take Cammalleri's spot alongside Erik Cole and Tomas Plekanec.
The Canadiens will host the Calgary Flames for their home opener at the Bell Centre, Thursday October 13, 2011.

Hopefully he can do some good offensively and do better than Travis Moen, who has found his way on the Plekanec line in pratice. Ugh, not this again.
Ya I saw Moen was on with Plek and Cole. I think it might be because he scored while playing with those two.
I think, however, if Moen dosn't cut it Kostitsyn will slot in there quickly.
What disturbed me more was Eller practicing on the wing on the fourth line. That is some major Jacques Martin ugh, imo...
Eller can play on the wing while Engvist is more suited to play center. I don'T mind Moen on the first line for a few shifts and in the 3rd period, but it won't last.
@Fred: I didn't like what I saw of Eller on the wing last season. He seems to play much better at center, imo.
I would prefer to see Eller pivoting the third line flaned by DD and, say, Kostitsyn.
There's still a day or so before game time, and JM has been known to try things out, so things could still change...
Eller looked lost on the wing. I see him starting on the 4th and then making his way up. Id have AK46 on 1st, Darche-DD-Palushaj on 3rd and then Moen-Eller-Engqvist on the 4th.
@Willey: Oh ya, forgot about Palushaj. He'll be a nice addition on the third.
Starting players who have been out on the bottom line and moving them up is part of JM's MO...so I think that is likely too...
