Canadiens/Islanders Post Game, All Star Voting, Head Shots and More

Good morning Habs fans.

After almost squandering another lead at home - the Habs led 3-1 before the Islanders tied it - Montreal rallied back to beat the Islanders 5-3 last night. Petteri Nokelainen emerged as an unlikely hero, scoring the winning goal for the Canadiens.

It was the first time in over a month that the Canadiens won back-to-back games. The victory also extends the team's point streak to six games.

Erik Cole was once again excellent, finishing a gorgeous passing play for his 11th goal of the year and leading the squad with six shots.  In fact, the entire Cole-Desharnais-Pacioretty line was a threat. David Desharnais picked up two assists and Max Pacioretty also got one helper.

Tomas Kaberle also had an assist in the contest, giving him points in his first two games as a Canadien. Just saying.

With the win, Montreal is tied for eighth in the East but remains outside of a playoff position due to a higher number of games played.

Next up, the conference leading Philadelphia Flyers pay a visit to Bell Centre on Thursday.
