The Canadiens came out on top with a 3-1 win against the Blueshirts last Tuesday in what Rangers head coach John Tortorella described as the worst game ever. The Rangers were without star forward Rick Nash in Tuesday's tilt and will be without him again tonight as he is sidelined with what is believed to be a head injury.
Brendan Gallagher on the other hand is expected to get back into the Habs lineup tonight. Gallagher missed the team's last three games after being hit hard into the boards by Flyers defenseman Luke Schenn last Saturday.
Gallagher has been cleared for contact and practiced yesterday on a line with David Desharnais and Max Pacioretty. Pacioretty has been getting back into his groove, scoring four goals in his last three games after being unable to light the lamp in his first ten contests.
The Canadiens have collected 11 out of a possible 12 points over the last six games and can help solidify the top spot in the east with another win tonight.

Sean, why don't you go out there completely bagged from travelling and exert some killer instinct at times during back-to-back games. Probably a bit harder than it is to write it...
Problem with Habs fans and writers...the Habs are never good enough even at the top of the standings. And frankly some Habs fans are sick of that mentality.
Anonymous Sean didn't write the killer instinct article. I did. The fact remains that Pacioretty himself said he saw it coming after the 2nd and was powerless to prevent them blowing a 2 goal lead not once but twice. That's a mental lapse, and that's what I am tired of after years of watching it. And yes, they were tired but if they're going to use that excuse (no excuses remember) then we should expect them to write off every second game, and they're not doing that. So when they have the mental fatigue it becomes more obvious than years past when frankly a lot of the times they just didn't seem to give a crap.
If you want to take shots at Habs fans and writers I won't oblige you. All hockey gets overanalyzed, especially the Habs. That's not new and it's not going to stop either, no matter where they are in the standings.
