I am feeling ambiguous this morning, much like my colleague Rosalyn Roy
On one hand, I am biased towards the Canadiens and want to see them do well.
On the other hand, I want this miserable season to provide some sort of tangible reward, preferably in the form of a top draft pick.
So, in seeing the 28th ranked Canadiens beat the 29th ranked Oilers, there are conflicting feelings.
There is one thing, however, that provides no uncertain emotions: Max Pacioretty's play this season.
The story has been told umpteen times, but to watch him play at such a high level after a near career-ending incident is truly something to behold.

I don't think you ever want your team to do anything other than give their best effort and try to build a nice little winning streak to end the season.
At least to have some confidence ending the season so that there is something to look forward to going into next season.
Pacioretty is a great story, I wasn't too sure he would ever be this much of a goal scorer at the NHL level.
Just for the people that complain that the Habs always miss in the draft and that Trevor Timmins is not very good. We picked Max 22nd, who was picked ahead of him that year that has scored 30 goals so far this year?
Is it possible that the majority of the teams that passed on him would like a do over?
Or maybe Timmins is just a very good evaluator of talent and there are diamonds in the later picks if you have good people.

Good point. As of this writing, no other player drafted in the first round of 2007 has hit the 30 goal plateau, not even Patrick Kane - although it should be said that David Perron did have his season cut short by injury.
In fact, taking a quick look at that draft class, no one has approached Pacs goal output.
Beyond that, 2007 was a banner year for the Canadiens and saw them draft Ryan McDonagh, Max Pacioretty, P.K Subban and Yannick Weber.
