Canadiens recall Andreas Engqvist from the Hamilton Bulldogs

MONTREAL (March 5, 2012) – The Montreal Canadiens announced today that forward Andreas Engqvist has been recalled from the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs. He will join the team in Calgary.

Assigned to the Bulldogs on March 3 the 6’01’’ and 201 lbs centre ranks first on the Bulldogs in scoring with 34 points (18 goals, 16 assists) in 44 games this season. Eight of his goals were scored on the powerplay.

Engqvist registered 106 shots on goal and 28 penalty minutes.

In 11 games with the Canadiens this season, Engqvist, 24, recorded five blocked shots and nine hits, while averaging 6:26 of ice time per game.

The Stockholm-born forward Engqvist signed with the Canadiens as a free agent on July 13, 2009.

Do you think Hamilton when get any reinforcements from our US college prospects soon?
I believe Pateryn, Kristo and Quailer could all get contract offers after their seasons are over.
It looks like all 3 could be legitimate prospects.

I hope they give him some decent ice time. lets see him perform like he does in Hamilton. We need some hope. :)
