Habs/Lightning, Price Examined, Mayer, Dumont, Candidates and More

Carey Price - Winnipeg Jets v Montreal Canadiens
Good A.M Hab fans!

As has been widely reported, Carey Price is being examined today by team doctors. It is feared that he may be suffering from a concussion. He will likely not play again this season.

As a result, the team called up netminder Robert Mayer from the AHL and also brought centre Gabriel Dumont to fill in for one of the team's many injured forwards.

Signed to an entry level contract in 2008, Mayer is an undrafted Czech prospect. He won the ECHL MVP award in 2009-10 and has played in 35 AHL contests this year, going 12-16-1 with a .906 save percentage.

Drafted 139th overall in 2009, Dumont — a native of Degelis, Quebec — has skated in 55 games with the Bulldogs, posting 13 goals and nine assists.

Should he suit up for the Canadiens, he will be the fifth Quebec-born player to lineup with the Habs this season.
