It's over!
Finally, June 11, 2012, and the Stanley Cup has finally been awarded. And what a deserving winner too.
The L.A. Kings completed their ascension to championship status, utterly dismantling the Devils 6-1 last night, to claim their first Stanley Cup in franchise history.
This is a squad who, truth be told, didn't have much trouble downing any of their opponents, until Jersey came along. To that point, it's funny to think that their sole bit of adversity in these playoffs was being UP 3-2 in their series against Jersey.
Totally dominate.
I'm sure Philly GM, Paul Holmgren, who got rid of both Mike Richards and Jeff Carter last off-season, is feeling more than a twinge of pain this morning!
