Kings/Devils Game 3, Thomas sabatical, Radulov, Rangers, Rumours and more

Morning puck addicts!

It was a quiet day on the NHL front yesterday. Well, at least from a game perspective it was. The Kings and Devils renew their best-of-seven series tonight with the scene shifting to Los Angeles.

The Kings have a golden opportunity to take a 3-0 stranglehold on the series in front of their home crowd tonight. But I'm certain the Devils, who played a much better Game 2, will have something to say about that.

The biggest news out of the NHL was the announcement that Bruins goaltender, Tim Thomas, will take next year off. Thomas is citing family and other reasons, but you have to wonder how much he and the Bruins still want to be married to each other. Especially after Thomas' White House snub this past season.

While, on the surface, Thomas would return to the Bruins the following season, I think it's fair to say he's already played his last game with Boston.

At 38 years of age, the more correct line of thinking is that Thomas has played his last NHL game. Period. Is someone going to take a Flyer on a 40 year old goalie who hasn't played in over a year (when he decideds to come back)?

It could happen, but I doubt it.
