Greetings Habs Addicts!!!
After what seemed to be a promising 4-1 victory by the Canadiens in Game 2 on Friday at the Bell Centre, they were thoroughly embarrassed by the Ottawa Senators 6-1 in front of a sellout crowd at ScotiaBank Place last night.
The Sens Army came out in force, physically imposing themselves early in the first period, hammering the Habs with a barrage of hits that they were never able to recover from.
Sens' rookie Jean-Gabriel Pageau, with a little help from the playoff tooth fairy, led the Sens with his first career playoff hat trick. Craig Anderson was solid in front of the Ottawa goal, although he went mostly untested by anything the Canadiens sent his way.
Senators' coach Paul MacLean certainly provided the Habs with enough bullitin board material to perhaps awaken them from their Game 3 stupor, especially with his attempt to take a timeout with 17.9 seconds left in the third period and the game all but done.
Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun gives us his take on the pounding the Senators gave the Habs.
Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette drubbing in Ottawa, from a Montreal perspective.

The National Hockey League announced the finalist for the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league's top rookie this season. Among the finalists in Habs' diminiative right winger, and perennial spark plug Brendan Gallagher.

The dissension on the Montreal Canadiens is palpable.
The team does not like PK Subban (because he is a self-centred, selfish jackass) and doesn't trust Carey Price (because they have worked so hard this season and he is terribly inconsistent, with 9 wins and 16 losses in the playoffs).
The problem is, PK Subban and Carey Price are close friends. They think they are better than everybody else.
After Price played SO MISERABLY in game 1 of the series, Max Pacioretty (our leading scorer) and Brian Gionta (our second leading scorer) may very well have approached management and said, "If you play Price in the second game, we're sitting."
Understandably, management could not have players standing up to them like this. Like Gomez and Camillari had in the past. So Michel Therrien sat them.
The team rallied in game 2 and inconsistent Price played well (though he didn't face all that much rubber in game 2, he did make 4 big saves).
Now, Gionta and Pacioretty would have to make a decision, play or not play in game 3? Therrien welcomed them back. Subban and Price were not pleased.
Carey Price is simply not the goalie he thinks he is. 9 and 16 in playoff hockey. Budaj had a better record than him all season. (Price lost to Ottawa earlier this season by a score of 5-1, he lost 6-0 to Toronto). Budaj beat Boston twice this season. In one of the games, Price was pulled and, down by 2 goals, Budaj held the fort, allowing Montreal to storm back and win. We all remember Price being pulled against Toronto. 3 goals in 4 shots. We all remember Budaj winning against Toronto in the last game of the season.
Gionta (the team captain) and Pacioretty (the team's leading scorer) know, the team is going nowhere with Price in net.
They stood up to management.
Subban, the selfish, self-centred elitist, is the only player on the team who supports Price.
The team is divided.
Mr. Therrien is handcuffed. Price, like Luongo and Fleury, is all hype. They all have great, hard working teams in front of them, that make them look good.
But the players have had enough of Price's poor play. The two top goal scorers on the team stood up to management. PK, the grandstanding, immature, self-important, egomaniac, sided with his friend.
Now what?
Play Budaj or lose.
Even if it means sitting Subban. Remember, Montreal was winning at the beginning of the season without him.
Sit Price. He simply is not a playoff goalie.
That's my two cents. None of this may be completely accurate but, given the way Subban and Pacioretty were yelling at each other on the bench... I think I'm right.
But, again, this is all just a theory.
You posted the same dribble on the other post. You should be a writer, you`re great at fiction.
Congrats to Gallagher for the Calder nod.
Boy, someone REEEEEALLY takes everything Hockey Night in Canada dummies say as gospel.
Copy/paste is so 2007, by the way.
We encourage our readers to leave their comments, but when you begin spewing the same rhetoric day after day, post after post, it looks like you`re waiting for their next broadcast before forming an opinion.
Do yourself a favor, Anonymous. Stop being an automaton and start thinking for yourself. Otherwise, you may end up thinking Glenn Healy was the bets goalie in NHL history or PJ Stock was a prolific goal scorer.

Carey Price's playoff record speaks for itself.
9 wins. 16 losses.
The team has lost faith in him.
He lost Game 1 for the Canadiens, letting in TWO INEXCUSABLE goals and one weak one.
Montreal should have gone into last night's game up two games to one.
But no. It was not to be.
Mr. Price played well in Game 2. He stopped the puck. It's his job. But let's be realisitic here. He made 4 key stops in Game 2. He was NOT bombarded. Let's not even begin to compare him to Halak. Halak was bombarded, severely outshot in both the Washington and Pittsburgh series. Incidently, you will remember, Mr. Price was seated firmly on the bench for both those series.
ON THE CONTRARY!! The CBC LOVES Price, they go on and on about him. They couldn't understand why he was sitting out the final game of the season against Toronto.
Maybe because he let in 3 goals on 4 shots the previous time Montreal faced Toronto? Literally. 4 shots. 3 goals.
We lost that game.
We needed to win the last game, to avoid Boston and play the "lesser" Senators.
So we played Budaj. Again, against Toronto. And we damn well won. 4-1.
Budaj beat Boston twice this year. Once, when Price was pulled between the second and third periods. We were down by two goals... but Budaj provided the steady goaltending necessary to mount the comeback. We won that damn game DESPITE Price's poor play.
Speaking of which, the Canadian Junior team also won gold the year Mr. Price played DESPITE his poor play.
Nobody will forget the shootout in the semi.
It went on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on... Because Mr. Price could not stop the puck.
Budaj's record THIS VERY SEASON is better than Price's.
And... Subban is a self-serving, self important, cancer on and off the ice. Not unlike Ovechkin, it will take a heroic coach, an incredible management team with tremendous patience and resolve to somehow get him to play as a team player. He is a grandstanding ass. Not nearly the contributor he thinks he is.
He and Price think they are elite, world class hockey players. Just like Luongo did. They will find out soon enough that nobody wants anything to do with either of them. Subban, because of his attitude, and Price, because he simply can not stop the puck in the big games.
He's a sieve. A funnel.
The CBC loves Price, what on earth are you talking about? They put a microphone on him for the All-Star game.
You mark my words, when the truth comes out, you will see. Pacioretty and Gionta confronted management, Therrien, after Price's BRUTAL Game 1. They said, you play him in Game 2... and we're sitting.
The team hates Subban. Pacioretty was yelling at him for a reason. Keep in mind, it was still a close game at that point. 4 goals were scored in the third. We were only losing 2-1 going into the third last night. something awful happened in our dressing room between periods.
The team is imploding because Price and Subban are cancers in the dressing room.
Go with Budaj. Or lose.
Go with Budaj...and advance... all the way to the Eastern finals versus Pittsburgh.
I am so sick and tired of seeing my habs being used as punching bags by the league. MB please, please address this. Bring in some muscle so our smaller players can play and score.I can not watch another game where we are pushed around and made to look like little girls. Man oh man where is Chris Nilan when you need him. MB you had better take care of this major need, come off season. I miss the days when we could go toe to toe with big bad Bruins and Flyers and come up smiling.
